The Teaching of Mathematics is Evolving Rapidly

In the classroom today, there is a continuing and growing focus on Mathematics and Numeracy. Nearly 150 Maths teachers, many of them Heads of department joined representatives from four awarding bodies, universities  software suppliers and Maths experts in an exciting, thought-provoking and very rewarding day on 13th November 2013. MathSpeak 2013 looked at the issues facing Maths teachers today.

Educators, regulators, government, students, parents and potential employers have singled out Mathematics as the critical area underpinning skills, knowledge and understanding across the curriculum.

The numbers of Maths teachers are increasing and becoming more demanding.

A great thank you to Simon Singh our key note speaker and all the speakers who contributed to making the first MathSpeak a great conference.

This new vibrant cohort of motivated staff are looking to expand their own skill base, cope with rapidly changing qualifications and curriculum and reap the benefits of exciting new developments in IT and ICT.It is these issues that the conference explores.
